A Decade Later: Looking Back at Our Garden & Gun Feature
Ten years ago, Ashburn Sauce Company earned a spot in the pages of Garden & Gun, and it's a moment we haven't forgotten.
The feature highlighted Crabby Mary's Bloody Mary Mix, but for us, it meant something bigger than a product write-up. It was validation of an idea that started unconventional, rooted in the flavors and culture of Virginia Beach.
It started with Willard Ashburn, who spent years in the seafood industry and knew the tastes of the Chesapeake region like the back of his hand. His vision of blending the bold, briny character of Hampton Roads into a Bloody Mary mix raised a few eyebrows at first. Crab, shrimp, and lobster flavors in a cocktail mixer? It wasn't exactly a safe bet.
Skepticism didn't last long. Once people tried it, they got it, and they kept coming back. Crabby Mary's found its audience and built a following that has stuck around ever since.
That spirit of taking chances, doing things differently, and building something worth talking about has always been at the heart of what we do. A decade later, it still is.
Looking back, we're grateful for every customer, restaurant partner, friend, and supporter who has been part of this ride. You've made moments like the Garden & Gun feature mean so much more.
The flavors may have evolved, but our commitment to making products we're proud to put our name on hasn't budged an inch.
Here's to ten years and plenty more ahead.
